For many optical technicians, the parallel guide bars on a frame ruler are essential, especially for rimless, polmil and supra frames. The bars close down to 28 mm from a maximum of 60 mm. The frame can be lifted off when not required. This rule is based on the once popular Empire Rule and allows the measurement of mono P.D.s for progressives.
