This book contains everything required for matching or naming pictures at 3m and 6m testing distances. The child is given one of the two key cards (8 or 4 pictures showing) and asked to point out the picture that matches each one chosen from the flip-over book. Vision is recorded as the smallest size matched correctly. Near vision is tested in the same way at 33cm with the near test card or by naming each picture shown. 

The eight pictures have similar outlines to reduce the likelihood of a child correctly guessing a picture. The pictures are repeated throughout the book with three per acuity level from size 60 to 3. They are presented in a flip-over, one-at-a-time format with a side index to identify each picture and acuity size.
