Lea Gratings Paddles are an easy to use tool for measuring grating acuity of preverbal children and multi-disabled individuals of all ages. In infants, young children and adults at early developmental level of visual acuity that cannot be assessed with optotypes tests due to communication difficulties, an estimate of the function of some parts of the visual pathways can be made using grating acuity measurements.

Paddles are used to present the gratings. When a striped pattern is presented to a young patient simultaneously with a grey surface of the same size and luminance, they are likely to look at the striped pattern because it is more interesting than the grey. The gratings are defined by the frequency – the numbers of pairs of black and white stripes per centimetre. Over time, improvement of visual function can be monitored. 

This set consists of 4 paddles having 6 gratings plus the solid grey surface. They are easy to clean and have printing on both sides. Supplied in a neat black wallet.
